5 May 2005
About 20 members attended the annual dinner, which took place on
May 5 at La Madeleine in Rockville, MD. The event opened with an
icebreaker in which participants were rewarded for correctly guessing
which obscure fact applied to other participants. Prizes included
pens, a GI Joe knockoff, a sleazy blond polyester hairpiece, a fairy
wand and other valuable goodies. The short business meeting reviewed
accomplishments for the past year and outlined objectives and tasks
for moving forward. Some of the priorities for 2006 will be to update
and redesign the chapter website, to continue having regional meetings,
and to solicit more membership involvement. A past chapter president,
Tamia Karpeles, again assumed the presidency for 2005/2006. Another
past president, Eleanor
Mayfield, received the first President's Award.
