AMWA MAC’s annual spring dinner took place on
Saturday, June 21, at Petits Plats in the Woodley Park/Adams Morgan
area of Washington, D.C. The dinner was organized by AMWA MAC Program
Director Christine Hemler Smith. Fourteen AMWA MAC members attended
the event, which followed the AMWA MAC chapter conference at the
Omni-Shoreham hotel, where 22 registrants participated in AMWA
workshops. Table settings were colorful and elegant, with lots
of natural light flowing into the private dining room. Dinner and
dessert were pleasing to the eye and the palate, and the service
was excellent. A brief business meeting took place between dinner
and dessert. AMWA MAC president Debbie Luyo introduced new president-elect
Stefan Schuber and thanked board members for their service to the
chapter in the past year. AMWA MAC listserv coordinator Michael
Altus spoke to the group about the different listservs available
to AMWA members, and encouraged everyone’s participation. The restaurant
provided an elegant atmosphere for an evening of fun, fellowship,
and networking, the perfect kickoff to a new year for the Mid-Atlantic
chapter.
