2007 Annual Mid-Atlantic Core Curriculum Conference

The 2007 MAC Curriculum Conference took place on Saturday, May 19, 2007 in Alexandria, VA. The conference included both advanced and core certificate workshops:

  • Bibliographic Resources for Medical Communicators (G)
  • Computer Searching the Medical Literature (ADV)
  • Electronic Regulatory Submissions (PH)
  • Strategies for Improving Document Quality for Pharmaceutical Communications Managers (ADV)

Joan Nilson and Art Gertel provided instruction for the conference. Ms. Nilson taught workshops focused on preparing medical writers to locate and assess online health information resources. Mr. Gertel focused his instruction on workshops dealing with issues relevant to medical writers interested in document preparation and regulatory submissions.

Continental breakfast and boxed lunches were included in the registration fees. In addition to each conference attendee’s learning objectives, conference goers also had ample opportunity to network with other medical writers from the Mid-Atlantic and surrounding regions.

The Mid-Atlantic Chapter will host its 2008 Core Curriculum Conference in June 2008 in Washington, DC. More details about the conference will be posted as they become available.
