Networking Lunch at Tarara Winery

In September, five members of AMWA-MAC met at Tarara Winery, Leesburg, VA, for an afternoon of wine tasting, lunch, and networking.  It was our first Northern Virginia event since Stefan Schuber, PhD, took over as president of the chapter.

Tarara Winery is situated near White's Ferry and is a wonderful testament to transformation: During his retirement years, a farmer from Ohio realized his dream by transforming a cornfield into one of the gems of the new American wineries. We had a nicely appointed conference room where we met and tasted wines from Charval (chardonnay blend) to Port while we exchanged notes about our work, the chapter, and the difficulties of getting together. Afterward we enjoyed a Mediterranean bag lunch beside the shores of the lake.

Beena R. Mayak, MD, who planned the meeting, says they enjoyed a beautiful day at a special venue and hopes more chapter members can join in future Northern Virginia events.
