Letter from the President

Welcome to our Web site!

The American Medical Writers Association Mid-Atlantic Chapter (AMWA-MAC) is a group of writers, editors, and communicators who have joined together in support of our shared goal of excellence and ethics in the dissemination of biomedical information.

Our chapter includes professionals from Baltimore to tidewater Virginia, from Maryland’s Eastern Shore to West Virginia. To overcome the challenges of our geography, we have formed regional groups that actively plan networking events — luncheons with and without speakers or topics, dinners, and an annual chapter conference. We invite you, whether or not you currently are a member, to join us at one of these events.

Our Web site is a resource, and we invite you to participate by contributing information and ideas that will be of interest to your peers and colleagues. This site is ours to shape. I continue to be impressed and educated by interactions with members of our chapter. To improve our outreach and facilitate interactions among members, we have in preparation several initiatives that I hope will expand our services.

Please join AMWA-MAC. We welcome your participation and ideas. Please don’t hesitate to contact me and members of the board with your questions and suggestions. We look forward to collaborating for our mutual betterment and that of our profession.
