Jobs! Jobs! Jobs!
Posting Jobs with the Mid-Atlantic Chapter
As a service to about 330 AMWA Mid-Atlantic Chapter members who wish to receive e-mail from the chapter, we send announcements of open job positions such as yours. The AMWA Mid-Atlantic Chapter includes Maryland, Virginia, DC, the southern part of Delaware, and the eastern part of West Virginia.
Position descriptions should be included in the body of an e-mail—no attachments, please. The e-mail may note as many jobs as can fit in one e-mail. Listings are subject to editing for grammar, clarity, and the like. Listings are sent using the "blind carbon-copy" feature so that recipients do not see the e-mail addresses of other recipients. A copy of the post is sent to the lister.
The chapter charges $25 for this service, regardless of the lister's AMWA affiliation, so the e-mail should also note contact information for e-mailing an invoice payable by check or money order (no credit cards, please). This fee covers one e-mail announcement.
I bring to your attention that AMWA has adopted the following position statement (on AMWA's website here):
The American Medical Writers Association (AMWA) recognizes the valuable contributions of medical communicators to the publication team. Medical communicators who contribute substantially to the writing or editing of a manuscript should be acknowledged with their permission and with disclosure of any pertinent professional or financial relationships. In all aspects of the publication process, medical communicators should adhere to the AMWA code of ethics.
Thank you for considering AMWA Mid-Atlantic Chapter's e-mail list service.
For more information, contact Judy Stoffer, e-mail list coordinator, AMWA Mid-Atlantic Chapter.
