Gaithersburg AMWA-MAC Chapter Members Start New Year with Tour, Networking Luncheon at MedImmune

Approximately 20 AMWA-MAC members and MedImmune staff launched the New Year with a tour and networking luncheon at MedImmune's Gaithersburg headquarters.

MedImmune Medical Writer Joe Shaw, PhD, hosted the chapter's first networking luncheon of the New Year and led a tour of the facilities, which are undergoing extensive expansion. The existing buildings combine up-to-date amenities such as videoconferencing and extensive meeting areas with open spaces and warm wood paneling.

One of the new buildings will be a 6-storey R&D facility. The site will be certified to environmental standards, which involves extensive use of environmentally friendly materials and recycling.

After the tour participants gathered in a comfortable classroom to enjoy lunch and conversations.
